  We want to very warmly recommend My Chicago Moving -real professionals. The moving team showed up right on time, and made the extra effort to ensure everything was packed carefully and arrived in the same condition as it left. The movers were punctual, responsible and quick - in three hours they packed everything efficiently and were very careful with our stuff. A very nice and polite team that made a moving day fun. Thanks for providing this great moving service.

  TL;DR Don't use these scam artists to move your stuff
  
  Full Story: I got a new job across the country, and called a few places for moving quotes. I've moved a few times in my life, but this was by far the longest distance, so I chose to go with movers. I talked to Shane, who was really calm and cool on the phone. Moving is really stressful, especially long distance, so this is where they real you in. Shane told me my move would cost me $1500, just a couple hundred more than renting a truck and moving everything myself. I ended up calling him back and putting down a 10% deposit. He said the rest had to be paid before delivery, and that it would take 7-10 days after pickup for my stuff to be delivered.
  I needed to start my new job, so I ended up moving my car and a car full of stuff into my new house and thought I'd just live rough for a week or so until my stuff got there. I scheduled my stuff to be picked up a couple days after I left, and my parents were going to be there to make sure everything went smoothly since I would already be 10 states away. My stuff was packed up into boxes except for the furniture, and everything was waiting in a storage shed for the movers to pick up. I called Shane a couple days before pickup and confirmed the final list of items, which was the same as we had originally talked about but with two very small end tables and a guitar more. He said that was fine, they'd get everything moved
  On pickup day, they came and got everything and wrapped up the furniture. My parents said everything went smoothly until the end, when they were presented with a bill for $2,000 after everything was on the truck! They were also charged an extra fee because they didn't have that cash and had to put it on a credit card. At this point, we really had no other choice. I was already working, and they were also working an unable to load my stuff up and bring it themselves.
  I called and asked about this charge the next day and was told that it was the fee for the extra items and A LONG DISTANCE charge as if Shane and I hadn't talked multiple times about where I would be moving! They also still required the original unpaid amount ON DELIVERY ($1350) otherwise they wouldn't even get my stuff off the truck. This fee had to be paid in cash or money order. No cashiers checks, no credit card, etc. I asked if they at least had an estimate as to when my things would be there since they had already screwed me over pretty hard. 10-15 days! When I mentioned Shane had said 7-10 days, I was told, no, that distance always takes 10-15 BUSINESS DAYS!
  Anyway, my stuff got to my house 3 weeks after the pickup date, and it was a mess. The boxes I used were mostly ripped and dirty. I also used a lot of brand new rubbermaid tubs, which were all cracked on arrival. They didn't seem to take care of any of the clearly marked fragile boxes at all, including my custom built PC which was dropped so far that the case had a huge dent, it no longer sat straight, and the power supply was destroyed. The movers then also left a huge box filled with cardboard, packing tape, and plastic wrap on the side of my house that I didn't see until going to work the next morning. The movers themselves yelled at each other the entire time, put a hole in one of my walls and said it was there before they got there, and were generally dicks the whole time. I'm just happy this whole nightmare is over, and I hope this review convinces others not to use this terrible service.
